Measuring social impact

If scale is supposed to increase impact rather than distance, you have to measure both.

The problem

Healthcare AI has a habit of promising before it proves — capacity multipliers, savings, outcomes, all claimed before a program has real data behind it. Every time that happens, it costs the whole field a little more trust.

How HumAInity approaches it

We hold every HumAInity deployment to five questions — Reach, Connection, Action, Human Capacity, and Outcomes — and we say plainly what's demonstrated versus what's still a hope. As programs mature, we intend to publish what we find, including the parts that are mixed or don't go our way.

What good looks like

  • Results reported separately from goals, never blended together
  • Human capacity treated as a real outcome, not an afterthought on a slide
  • Findings developed with academic partners who have every reason to hold us to it
